Softly as the Beltane air Singing it’s soliloquy To meet you, eye for eye So deeply in that ancient sea Like rocks that line the story’s rue Each whispered word, not yet apart Beneath the boats that sail the sky And journey to the restless heart So, nobody warned you How different it would be When we drift off into night When we disappear to dark Go on, forget the light The silence of a lover’s lamp Which switches on, into the night How terrible to share its sound Its brightness, is it wrong or right? These dreams were never our’s to own Known poetry in words disguised What’s neither flesh nor bone It’s wish is to be memorized So, nobody warned you How different it would be When we drift off into night When we disappear to dark Go on, forget the light As earnest is to swallow whole And none the more to follow suit This darkness penetrates your soul There’s more to come and none to boot Oh, sweet disarray The course of which must follow blind The mountains where I’ll call my stay To meditate and mend my mind Your painted words erupt with scorn A version of your body’s heat Roses in the garden west Send western winds that smell so sweet I knew I’d find you in the tomb With krakens of the stormy deep The depth of which we never knew No man alive can ever keep So, nobody warned you How different it would be When we drift off into night When we disappear to dark Go on, forget the light

Sold my soul to the picture show Everything I’d ever owed It was burned away (I think it was May) They were crying on the road Dr. John said to Major Tom "It’s your turn to play" And the Boys of Wexford In heart and hand This world will have its day The dreams we bore And the deaths we’d score Just to suffocate in pain From the market dark I swear I felt your spark You were impaled by the rain Kingdom Come, if your will be done It’s going to leave a mark And the Boys of Wexford In heart and hand This world we will embark I do not doubt dieu honesty No one’s dealt that perfect hand For if every seventh dynasty Should melt back into sand It was not for me This was not for me It was not for me From grey to black There’s no turning back To the life I’ll never know From the concrete street to the Bristol heat The circus touched by snow Elston Gunn, he spit out his gum Said "It’s your turn to deal” The cards were dealt And the boys they felt The world could finally heal

Woke 05:15
When I come back to my house And I see what I’ve seen here before I don’t need two legs to stand I don’t need my feet touching the floor I don’t need drugs as my fuel They won’t help me to make up my mind Pour me a pint, won’t you sir? This feeling, I left far behind When I am woke, I can see A sense of returning for me I can see, through these clouds You were my friend The candle flame burning for me I was never the one to believe I was never the one to pull cards The Empress of all that remains Reflecting herself in the shards Built my faith from a tower of glass This path it was always alone Oh, the heart that was full This song it was never my own When I am woke, I can see A sense of returning for me I can see, through these clouds You were my own The heart ever yearning for me Oh, to wait at the broken gate The fractured plight of the few After the bomb, will God pick up his cards? To begin the game once anew Is it chance, this Eleusinian dance Freedom, yet sought from the fire I’ve seen the mists and I’ve suffered no fools There ships lost so deep in the mire When I am woke, I can see A sense of returning for me I can see, through these clouds You were my kin The world wasn’t turning for me I guess it’s time to begin
